Two alleged recordings remain out of public view as government officials say they are looking into the report

AUGUST 9, 2026 — Somewhere inside Air Force investigative files may sit two videos that, if the descriptions prove accurate, could rank among the more intriguing pieces of UAP footage yet to emerge from a military source.
According to a report published by the New York Post, two classified cellphone videos allegedly show a massive black triangular object flying near a military installation in Colorado in 2023.
The videos have not been released to the public, and their contents cannot presently be independently verified.
But the story took a significant turn when a Department of War spokesman said officials are now looking into the report.
Two Nights, Two Videos
According to sources cited by the Post, a U.S. service member recorded the object with a personal cellphone on two consecutive nights in 2023.
Those sources described a dark triangular object approximately 100 feet across moving over the nearby mountains.
Even stranger is the claim that the object appeared to blend into or become obscured by clouds as it moved.
The recordings are reportedly held by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Colorado.
Sources provided two specific file numbers allegedly associated with the recordings:

The presence of specific reference numbers gives investigators something concrete to pursue, but it does not by itself authenticate either the videos or the descriptions of what they reportedly contain.
Government Says It Is Looking
The case became considerably more interesting after Acting Department of War Press Secretary Joel Valdez publicly responded to the report.
Valdez said the department’s team was looking into the matter and indicated that anything officials uncover could potentially be released through PURSUE, the government’s UAP transparency program.
That is an important development—but it requires careful interpretation.
The government’s response does not confirm that officials have located the two videos. It does not verify the reported size or behavior of the object, and it certainly does not establish that the object represented exotic or extraterrestrial technology.
For now, it confirms only that officials are examining the report.
Another Triangle Over Colorado
The story arrives alongside another intriguing Colorado triangle report contained in recently released government records.
A former Pentagon employee told investigators that he and his wife observed a silent, dark or translucent triangular object over the Colorado Springs area in October 2023.
According to that separate account, the object passed at an estimated altitude of roughly 300 feet and appeared almost transparent, with a haze or visual distortion surrounding it.
Whether the two reports have any connection is unknown.
The similarities are nevertheless difficult to overlook: Colorado, 2023, military connections, low-altitude triangular objects and descriptions involving unusual visual characteristics.
At present, however, there is no publicly established evidence proving the incidents involved the same object—or even the same type of object.
The Evidence We Haven’t Seen
That leaves this investigation in an unusual position.
Unlike countless anonymous UFO videos circulating on social media, this case comes with reportedly identifiable military records, a service-member source and specific AFOSI file numbers.
But the most important evidence remains missing.
The videos themselves.
Until those recordings become public, claims that they depict a 100-foot craft, extraordinary maneuvering or unusual camouflage effects remain claims—not established facts.
That could change.
If government investigators locate the recordings and release them through PURSUE, independent analysts will finally have an opportunity to examine the imagery, metadata, terrain, weather conditions and possible conventional explanations.
Until then, two alleged videos remain behind closed doors—and one very large black triangle remains an unanswered question.
What crossed the Colorado mountains on those two nights in 2023?
For now, the evidence isn’t public.
