An 11-foot metallic object turns up in a farmer’s field. Sheriff’s deputies respond, federal agencies get involved, and one question remains: where did it come from?

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, MINNESOTA — It wasn’t a flying saucer landing on the White House lawn. It was something perhaps even stranger: an enormous piece of unidentified metal sitting among the cornstalks of rural Minnesota.
On October 14, 2026, Stevens County deputies responded to a report of foreign debris in a cornfield. What they discovered was a metallic, dome-shaped object measuring approximately 11 feet across.
The Sheriff’s Office described it as presumably originating from space.
The Minnesota Duty Officer was notified, and federal authorities became involved in trying to establish where the object came from and who owned it.
According to subsequent reporting, the mysterious debris was removed from the field on October 15 and placed in a secure location. Yet its exact origin remained undisclosed.
Could it be part of a rocket? A discarded spacecraft component? The remains of a satellite that survived a fiery journey through Earth’s atmosphere?
For now, space debris appears a reasonable possibility. But until investigators identify the object, one rather extraordinary question remains:
How does something eleven feet across end up in a Minnesota cornfield without anyone knowing exactly what it is?
